My Work

Placeholder Engine

I created the physics side of a 3D games engine called "Placeholder Engine" as part of a collaborative project. Over the course of 8 weeks, I programmed functionality to handle force and torque accumulation, springs, drag and collisions including spheres, planes and both axis-aligned and oriented bounding boxes.

  • C++
  • GLM

2D Space Simulation

For my final year project, I created an n-body solar system simulation which uses Newtonian gravity calculations and optimised it to run at 100 frames per second by using quad-trees and threading

  • C++
  • Optick for profiling
  • SceneScript for Wallpaper Engine port
  • All art created by me in Paint.NET

About Me

Taiga Hookey

Hi, I'm Taiga, a mega-nerd interested in everything from comics and sci-fi to all kinds of alternative music and even the rules that govern the English language.

I love to do things myself, learning skills such as sewing to fix or alter clothes, cooking so I can make tasty meals, or programming mechanics to mimic the games I enjoy.
